- Health and safety risk assessment and control
- Transport safety
- Electrical hazards and controls

Unit HSA2
Workplace Risk Assessment

Practical Workplace Assessment
Learners apply their knowledge by completing a practical workplace risk assessment, identifying hazards and considering appropriate controls.

How the Qualification Is Assessed
Unit HSA1
Multiple-Choice Examination
1 Hour
HSA1 is assessed by a one-hour multiple-choice examination consisting of 40 questions.
Each question provides one correct response and three incorrect responses. The examination covers the HSA1 syllabus.
Unit HSA2
Practical Risk Assessment
1 Hour
HSA2 is assessed through a practical assessment completed in the learner's own workplace.
The practical assessment is normally completed within 14 days of the multiple-choice examination.
Entry Requirements
No Formal Prerequisites
The NEBOSH HSA is designed for learners who are new to health and safety, so previous safety qualifications or professional experience are not formally required. A suitable level of English is recommended so learners can understand the course material and assessments.
